What you should know about South!
Hello! My name is Tony and I'm a JagGuide at the University of South Alabama. One thing you should know about South is our incredible 20:1 student-faculty ratio. This makes South the perfect size for anyone that wants to explore what it's like to attend a medium-large university without feeling like a fish out of water!
Having smaller class sizes allows me to gain personal connections with professors and develop relationships with other classmates. It's easy to plant some roots and grow a network of people with varying skills and personalities all around campus.
Everyday is a perfect blend of seeing a few familiar faces and still being able to meet someone new.
Professors also really enjoy interacting with students and getting to know us. They encourage students to get out of our comfort zones in and out of class to help push us further. I often find myself working with different types of people during class and even going on to continue our relationships outside of class.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that South's campus feels like an extended community. We all work together and we all have the same goals: To see each other succeed.
