Take A Break
This week at USA is Fall Break! I take a break and de-stress as a college student by indulging in a good meal, an old movie and a long nap. All three of these things allow me to switch to autopilot and unwind. A hearty meal will fill me up. A nostalgic movie will calm me down. A nap will let me rest and catch up on some sleep.
Between classes, work and homework, my life can get pretty busy. I do not mind constantly being on the move, but it is nice to slow down and just rest every once in a while.
As Winnie the Pooh put it, "Don't underestimate the value of Doing Nothing."
How I perform day-to-day is directly correlated to my mental health: If my mind is a mess and I am stretched too thin, then my room is a mess and all of my classes receive less attention. That is why it is important to take breaks and reevaluate what is going on in your life in order to get a grip on it.
