The First Time I Visited South
The first time I visited South was for a USA Day my junior year of high school.
It was bright and early on a Saturday morning, but everyone had huge smiles on their faces and were extremely welcoming.
I fell in love with the campus and felt as if I had already created lifelong friendships with all of the people I got to know while visiting.
Everything South had, and still has, to offer was exactly what I was looking for in a university: The campus is big enough so that you can always go exploring; the class sizes are small enough so that you can build real relationships with professors and classmates; and the programs and people around campus are so diverse, everyone can feel included.
Another thought that was fresh on my mind when I first visited South was the price. Everything seemed too good to be true, so I thought I wouldn't have been able to afford to go to South. However, I think my grandparents, who were with me at the time, fell in love when they saw the scholarship I'd be receiving.
I wouldn't have been able to truly experience South or make my mind up on whether I should've attended South or not without attending USA Day. At USA Day, potential students are given the opportunity to learn about South and its community, as well as ask any questions that may help you make the final decision about your academic career.
If your're a hands on learner like me, then USA Day is the perfect blend of a campus tour and preview night that will help guide you decide on whether South is the right school for you.
